Things were running unusually well the morning of Caryn and Brian’s wedding. What should have been a grey, rainy sky was actually a beautiful blue. Things were right on schedule and Daniel and I were enjoying a relaxing morning with the ladies (a very rare treat). But all this suddenly changed when Caryn’s sister Stacey was getting zipped into her gorgeous BCBG gown… and the zipper broke. That’s right, a full-on split down the middle of the thing. At first I was enjoying myself, taking photos of them trying desperately to get the darn thing closed, but once the drama unfolded, it became clear that this was going to be quite a problem. To add to it, Stacey was completely stuck in the dress as the zipper wasn’t budging either way. Daniel was waiting in the hallway (he doesn’t get to be around naked ladies!) so I joined him so we could quickly come up with an action plan to buy Stacey some time to run to BCBG and get fixed up. Oddly enough, everything went really smoothly after that. We took Caryn and Brian out for pre-ceremony portraits and everything was just fine!
The rest of the day ran smoothly and Stacey made it back on time, zipper changed, for the ceremony. The reception that followed was one of the most beautiful we’ve ever photographed. Bice, the restaurant where everything was held, was just stunning. Check out some of our favorite photos from the day and their slideshow, below.

July 2, 2009 - 4:22 pmmona lieberman - As I am looking at these photos and slideshow i can only tell you both that i am in awe. Daniel and Davina you are two of the nicest people that i have had the opportunity to meet. you both outdid yourselves. I am thrilled that Caryn and Brian chose the two of you to do the photography for a very special day in all of our lives. Having you both spend the day and evening with us was incredible. When it was time for you to leave as your job was over i told Davina that you should stay and dance with us, as you were not just the phtographers but became part of our family.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you both

I knew Angie and Tony’s wedding would be great because, let’s face it, they are just adorable. But I have to say, it really surpassed my expectations. Angie was just gorgeous and such a joy to photograph and it was especially great to shoot her reaction to Tony’s surprise during their first dance… Tony interrupted their traditional dance by grabbing the mike and telling the story of when Angie saw the band Stars in concert and how she went on and on about how amazing the singer, Torq, was. That’s right, you guessed it, much to everyone’s shock and surprise, Tony flew in Torq to sing Aspidistra Flies, a beautiful song, for their first dance. It was by far one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever had the privilege of witnessing. I bawled my eyes out. Seriously, a guest had to lend me her napkin so I could take pictures. Un-freaking-believable.
We are in the midst of the craziest week of the season, but I wanted to take the time to post a few of my favorites from the day… here they are!

Angie and Dom’s engagement shoot was by far the longest we’ve ever done (4 hours!) but we were so happy to do it! We took them out for a classic date of bowling, drinks, and a romantic walk, but since we got along so well, one bowling game turned into two and one drink turned into Daniel and Dom having shots… you get the picture! I’m not sure that Angie or Dom were particularly into the bowling idea when Daniel and I suggested it, but we were so excited about it, and they trust us and our vision so much, that they went along with it. It was tougher to shoot than we imagined, but we were confident that we could give it a cool retro/vintage vibe and that photoshop would help us out to achieve this. As always, PS didn’t let us down and Angie and Dom, who were great in front of the camera, didn’t either. The result is one shoot that looks more like 4 different ones, but the more variety the better, right?
One last thing I should share… Angie sent us this email this morning: “Me and Dom wanted to thank you guys a million. You are AMAZING. So much fun to be with you and so interesting to see you guys work. You guys have an amazing talent and we’re extremely lucky to share this moment with you guys… thanks a lot!” She hadn’t even seen the pictures yet! They are so sweet!
June 26, 2009 - 8:26 pmJohanna - Seriously awesome pics!!! (almost as awesome as our engagement shoot...I have to remain bias;) ) You two never fail to amaze and delight :)
June 30, 2009 - 6:11 pmLetizia - these pictures came out AMAZING. i'm dom's sister and when he showed me the pics my mouth fell to the floor by how amazing they are. you guys have such an extrodinary talent. you guys better still be taking pics by the time i get married lol can't wait for the wedding day :)
July 4, 2009 - 6:55 pmAmanda - I agree with everyone! luv the pictures. I was a bit scared at first when my sister told me she booked her photographers without consulting (i work in photography too) but I am gradely surprised and delighted with her choice. You guys rock and I look forward to meeting both of you ;-)

Following the overwhelmingly positive feedback we got from Nataly and Richard’s engagement shoot, the pressure was on for their wedding photos! But to be honest, the day, for everyone, was just effortless. I think Nataly and Richard would have trusted Daniel and I with their lives - they were just amazing! They gave us complete creative freedom and when it came time for their portraits, they followed us around Ile Bizard from one random location to another, in the Fiat 500 they had rented. The trust came in real handy when we stumbled upon the skeleton of a house that once was; literally the bones of a home that is slowly being torn down - and decided that this was the world’s coolest wedding portrait location. We had Nataly hike around the ruins in her heels and her 8-foot veil - what a trooper! Oh and need I mention how gorgeous she is? Seriously!
And you can, as always, check out their slideshow below:

People often ask us what keeps us so busy when we’re not shooting weddings. The obvious answer is editing wedding photos, which is true, but there’s always so much other random crap - sorry, “stuff” - that pops up, seems like we’re always doing something! Lately, what little spare time we do have has been taken up by photoshoots for Elegant Weddings, a Montreal ad magazine that Daniel and I are taking part in.
The issue hits newsstands in August so if you’re planning a wedding in the Montreal area, make sure to check that out! Here’s a little sneak peek at some of what we’ve contributed:

Looking at the pictures from this shoot makes me giggle. Micheal and Jessica were great subjects, but Micheal is one of our photographers so it’s strange for us to see him modeling for a change! Mike and Jessica are getting married on Saturday - yes, this Saturday! - so Daniel and I gave them this shoot as a wedding gift. We are shooting another wedding that day but we will be sending them our most positive vibes. Congrats you two!
June 18, 2009 - 4:53 amVanessa - these pictures are stunning! Michael, you are great on either end of the lens : )
June 18, 2009 - 11:20 amJessica Quijano - The photos look great!!!- it was sooo nice working with both of you and thank you for this wonderful gift.

I’m not exactly sure how I’m supposed to do Karine and Fred justice. They were just so freaking amazing. Daniel and I were in the best mood all day because not only were they and their guests so much fun, but they had total faith in us and let us do our thing. I can’t stress how crucial that is, and this wedding is the perfect example that when you trust us, you will get the best results! Not only that, but as a result, Karine and Frederic got to actually enjoy their wedding day. They spent time together, and thoroughly took advantage of every moment. This sounds so basic, but I can’t tell you how rare that is! Plus, hello? Could they be more in love?! They’ve been together almost 10 years and they still can’t keep their hands off each other!
From start to finish, Daniel and I had an absolute blast. Karine’s maid of honor gave birth the night before the wedding so she was unable to attend, but I swear, I hit it off so well with the girls while they were getting ready, I felt like I was the missing bridesmaid! Check out our favorites below (and keep an eye out for us in the slideshow!):
You can view their slideshow below (song is Miracles, by Matt White):
